Ipswich Town's Idris El Mizouni last night celebrated sealing a League Two promotion with loan club Leyton Orient.

The O's lost 2-0 at Gillingham, but Bradford's 1-0 loss at Swindon means they are guaranteed a top-three finish with four games to go.

"If we don't go on and be champions I'll be fuming," said El Mizouni.

"This is a great feeling. I've never experienced promotion before, but hopefully this is the first of many.

"You can see from the outside that all the boys are connected. I can't name you one person that I don't get on with."

Orient's experienced skipper Darren Pratley said of El Mizouni: "This boy is going to go on and play at the top. We have got to enjoy him for the next few games and then hopefully he can come back next season."

El Mizouni has made 16 starts and 10 sub appearances for the Blues since emerging from the youth system at Playford Road.

The 22-year-old's contract at Portman Road runs until the summer of 2024, with the club holding an option to extend that by a further 12 months.

Town's current central midfield options include Sam Morsy, Massimo Luongo, Lee Evans, Dominic Ball, Cameron Humphreys and Panutche Camara.

Luongo's short-term deal expires in the summer, while Rekeem Harper is due to return from a loan at Exeter City.
