Ipswich Town have announced that they will be making a long trip to Lancashire to face Preston North End in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday, July 19 (7pm ko).
The Blues are unable to play at Portman Road this summer due to a major renovation of their playing surface.
Preston finished 12th in the Championship last season under the management of Ryan Lowe, with Ipswich currently preparing for a return to second-tier football following a four-year absence.
A midweek game at Deepdale will come hot-on-the-heels of Kieran McKenna's men having had a training camp in Austria.
