Maddie Biggs and Sarah Quantrill are departing Ipswich Town Women at the end of their contracts ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Forward Biggs leaves the Blues after four years to explore opportunities elsewhere, whilst goalkeeper Quantrill is taking a step away from football to focus on her career outside of the game.

Biggs joined Town initially as an academy player in the summer of 2019 and and went on to make her senior debut on the opening day of the 2019/20 season.

The forward will be remembered for her heroics when, at the age of just 16, she scored a first half hat-trick against Huddersfield Town in the Women's FA Cup in 2020/21.

That sent the Tractor Girls through to the last 16 of the competition, where they were knocked out by eventual winners Manchester City.

She would continue to be a mainstay in Joe Sheehan's side as the Tractor Girls were promoted to the third tier in the summer of 2021, but sadly, injuries limited Biggs to just 15 appearances in her final season at Town, finding the net on four occasions.

Biggs departs the club having scored 20 goals in 67 games.

Quantrill joined Town from London Bees in the summer of 2021 and became a fan favourite during her two seasons at the club.

She saved two spot-kicks as the Tractor Girls beat Southampton on penalties to reach the last eight of the FA Cup for the first time in the 2021/22 campaign.

In total, she kept 39 clean-sheets in 60 appearances and won back-to-back league Golden Gloves.

The Tractor Girls have now seen five departures this summer with winger Anna Grey joining Barclays Championship Lewes, while defender Abbie Lafayette and midfielder Sarah Brasero-Carreira also look set for a move to the second tier.
