Welsh international goalkeeper Poppy Soper has joined Ipswich Town Women on a season-long deal from Championship side Charlton Athletic.

The 21-year-old becomes the Tractor Girls second signing of the 2023/24 season, after Maisy Barker signed a one-year deal from West Ham United.

The goalkeeper joins the club to replace the departing Sarah Quantrill, who made the decision to step away from football to focus on her career outside of the game.

Soper joined Charlton on a two-year-deal last summer after departing Women's Super League side Chelsea.

During her time at the West London club, she spent two seasons with Plymouth on a dual-registration deal, playing regularly in Women's National League Southern Premier division.

She has been called up multiple times to the senior Wales squad, although she is yet to be capped at senior level.

Soper goes straight into the squad for Sunday's pre-season trip to Loughborough Lightning.

The Tractor Girls are set to make further additions this summer after multiple departures.
