Ipswich Town Women have been drawn away to fourth-tier side Northampton Town in the first round of the FA Cup.

The Cobblers play in the FA Women's National League Division One Midlands, which is a division below Town, and it will be the first time the two sides have faced.

They beat Coventry Sphinx 7-5 in the previous round to progress and currently sit seventh in their league after seven games so far.

Joe Sheehan's side were narrowly beaten 1-0 at home by Championship side Lewes as they reached the fourth round of the competition last season.

The Tractor Girls have great memories in the competition, reaching the quarter-finals during the 2021/22 season when they faced Women's Super League side West Ham at home.

They put in a spirted performance, but were beaten 1-0 in front of a packed-out crowd in Felixstowe in a game which was televised on the BBC red button.

The tie will be played on Sunday 12th November.
