Ipswich Town crashed out of the Carabao Cup with a 3-1 defeat to Fulham at Portman Road. Alex Jones provides his player ratings.

Christian Walton

Unlucky for the opener as there was not much he could've done. His back line left him totally exposed. A few nervy moments, such as his save that clipped the post. Third goal went straight through him. Will take time to get back to his best. 5

Janoi Donacien

Needed to do more to stop crosses coming in from the left. Fulham's wide men had a lot of space to work with. Frustrating night for him. Hooked for Omari Hutchinson towards the end of the game. 5

Axel Tuanzebe

Looked really calm on the ball and handled Fulham's front line well in the rare few moments they tried to play quick football. He wasn't really tested other than that, however. Passing range was a little off, but that'll improve with game time. 6 (Man of the Match)

Cameron Burgess

Didn't look quite as confident without Luke Woolfenden next to him. Far from terrible, but a few sloppy moments. Certainly could've done better for both goals. Caught on the wrong side of the pitch for Fulham's opener. Hooked for goalscorer Elkan Baggott around the hour-mark. 5

Harry Clarke

Caught in no-man's land for the opener as two Fulham players ran into space. Possibly could've done better for the second goal too. Looked uncomfortable at left-back. All three Fulham goals came from his side. 5

Dom Ball

Battled well and had a few nice moments on the ball, but the game passed him by a bit. Fulham's possession meant he was chasing shadows at times. 5

Jack Taylor

Like Ball, had some nice moments on the ball. Perhaps looked a bit more comfortable than his midfield partner, but also got lost as Fulham knocked it around. 6

Kayden Jackson

Fulham afforded him next to no space out wide, and Town just ended up cutting him out of the game in the end. Had a good chance to test Marek Rodak early on, which was one of Ipswich's few opportunities in the game. 5

Sone Aluko

Some really tidy moments on the ball, but lacked the pace to get at Fulham's back line. Nice moment for him to captain Town against his former club, however, but hooked for Cameron Humphreys midway through the second half. 6

Marcus Harness

Drew more fouls than anyone else on the pitch (3) and won the most duels (6). Showed some good moments, but Ipswich couldn't get the ball to him enough. Had just 35 touches, which was the least of any outfield player across the 90 minutes. 6

Freddie Ladapo

Totally isolated. Town just couldn't create anything for him. A really tough night. Brought off for George Hirst in the 70th minute. 5

Sub: Cameron Humphreys (61')

Versatile. Started in midfield, moved to left-back. Got into good areas in both positions. 6

Sub: Elkan Baggott (61')

Impressive. Some good moments on the ball while playing around the back. Scored the header to give Ipswich a glimmer of hope. Hard for him in this team with so many centre-back options. 6

Sub: George Hirst (70')

Had to bury his chance late on. Could've changed the complexion heading into stoppage time. Had little to work with other than that. 5

Sub: Omari Hutchinson (70')

Some bright moments. If Kieran McKenna brought him on earlier, they definitely could've created more and possibly fought their way back in. The way he waited to bring him and Hirst on shows where his priorities lie. 6
