On-loan Ipswich Town midfielder Panutche Camara will be sidelined for a significant period of time after suffering a hamstring injury at Charlton Athletic.
He was forced off after 10 minutes during the Addicks’ 3-2 win at Wigan Athletic on Tuesday night, and it has subsequently been confirmed that he is set to miss three months of action.
“It’s not good so there’s no point dressing it up," said Charlton head coach Michael Appleton.
"It’s going to be at least three months and obviously I feel for Pan. He’s worked ever so hard to get himself in a position to play and you can see the ability that he’s got."
"He covers the ground very well and you could argue that he’s almost quicker with the ball than he is without the ball,"
Appleton added: "He’s had issues in the past with his hamstring and he’s not had a great time of it with injuries over the last couple of years."
Camara, who is due to remain with the Addicks until the end of the season, had only just came back from a foot injury he suffered in August, having made just eight appearances so far.
The 26-year-old endured an injury-hit campaign at Portman Road last season following a £500k summer switch from Plymouth Argyle, making just one start and three sub appearances in between two groin surgeries.
His contract at Town is set to run until the end of the campaign, but the club have an option for a further year.
