Goals from Natasha Thomas, Megan Wearing, Lucy O'Brien, Lenna Gunning-Williams and Sophie Peskett helped Ipswich Town into the third round of the FA Cup with an 8-0 victory over Sutton Coldfield Town in their first match at the AGL Arena since September.

Just a minute in, the Tractor Girls were denied the first goal of the game as Wearing rose highest to meet a corner, but her shot was blocked on the line.

Town made the breakthrough in the seventh minute when a dangerous corner from captain Maria Boswell was met by the head of Town's top scorer Thomas before bouncing into the back of the net.

Town's second goal came again from a corner in the 24th minute, as an initial shot was blocked, falling nicely to Scotland U19 international Wearing, who put the ball into the back of the net.

Town were awarded a penalty after O'Brien was taken down in the box after a fantastic run.

The penalty was converted by O'Brien, going low to the Sutton keeper's left, making that her third goal in the competition so far.

Sutton had a chance to pull one back just before half-time, but their shot went just past the post.

Town continued the second half as they finished the first, with Lenna Gunning-Williams, Summer Hughes and Thomas all having shots saved.

Gunning-Williams finally got the goal she was after in the 68th minute, as she was found on the run by a delightful through ball, hitting the ball with power low into the far corner of the net.

The Tottenham loanee doubled her tally a minute later, as a fantastic piece of skill saw her through on goal once again, hitting a half volley from the edge of the box which flew past the goalkeeper.

Sophie Peskett scored Town's sixth of the game as a low ball from Hughes from the left found Peskett in the six-yard box. She turned her marker to finish down the centre of the goal.

Town should have had a penalty in the 91st minute as Gunning-Williams was through on goal and a shove in the back meant she couldn't take the shot on, but the referee waved the challenge away.

This didn't matter however, as Town scored their seventh a minute later, as Gunning-Williams again ran through, squaring the ball to Peskett to tap into an open net.

Gunning-Williams got her well-deserved hat-trick just before the final whistle, after being played through by Peskett before slotting low to the keeper's right.

This result sees the Tractor Girls into the third round of the cup, with the tie to be played on Sunday, December 10.
