Ipswich Town fan group Blue Action have revealed plans to greet the team coach on derby day as Kieran McKenna's men bid to beat Norwich City for the first time in 14 years.

The group organised a similar greeting ahead of the clash with Exeter last season, the day on which Town sealed promotion with a 6-0 thrashing of the visitors.

Those scenes were extraordinary, with blue smoke, flags and thousands of chanting fans heralding the arrival of their heroes.

And now Blue Action want to top that, as old rivals the Canaries visit Portman Road for a 12.30pm kick-off on Saturday, December 16.

Town haven't beaten Norwich since April 2009, but will be favourites heading into this sold-out clash in Suffolk, given the teams' respective league positions and form.

In a post on social media, Blue Action said: "We have organised a coach greet to welcome Kieran McKenna and the team before the derby next Saturday.

"The coach is due to arrive on Sir Alf Ramsey Way/Constantine Road at 11am.

"We would urge everyone to get involved and top the scenes seen before the Exeter game last season.

"We would also encourage fans to enter the ground earlier than usual to set the tone and build the atmosphere.

"Uppa Towen. Blue Action."
