Ipswich Town Women face Lewes at home in the third round of the FA Cup this afternoon (1pm). Ross Halls previews the game.
The Tractor Girls' game with the Rooks was postponed last weekend due to a waterlogged pitch at the AGL Arena.
Joe Sheehan's side have already been Sutton Coldfield Town 8-0 at home and won 6-0 at Northampton Town in the previous rounds.
Now they face a Championship side who currently sit 11th in the second tier of women's football, a league above Town.
They've won just twice in their opening 11 games this season and have just entered at this stage of the competition.
The two sides faced each other in the competition last season in the fourth round, where the Blues were narrowly beaten 1-0 at home.
Familiar faces are in their squad with Anna Grey and Sarah Brasero-Carriera signing for the Rooks from Town this summer, while current Blues keeper Laura Hartley is a former Lewes player.
The Blues have great memories in FA Cup, playing the likes of Man City and West Ham in recent years, with the latter being the quarter-finals during the 2021/22 season.
The game is being played at the AGL Arena, with the game kicking off at 1pm.
In other news, forward Natasha Thomas has been voted player of the month for November after scoring five goals in four games.
Thomas has now won the award for a third month in a row. She has scored 18 goals in 13 games in all competitions this season so far.
The Blues will host Championship side Charlton Athletic in the fourth round of the Women’s FA Cup if they beat Lewes today.
