Ipswich Town Women were able to get revenge over physical Championship side Lewes this afternoon, with Kyra Robertson getting her first goal for the club in over 50 appearances with a stunning strike, to help them progress to the FA Cup Fourth Round.

This match saw the return of former Town player Sarah Brasero-Carreira, with fellow former Tractor Girl, Anna Grey, missing from the Lewes team.

A fast start to the game saw both teams have shots at goal within the first minute.

Town came closest to the first goal after 17 minutes, with Lenna Gunning-Williams' shot causing trouble for the Lewes keeper, with Ruby Doe's shot being blocked out for a Town corner.

The match was very even until the 35th minute when Robertson scored her first goal for Town, with a fantastic strike from 20 yards which flew into the back of the net over the Lewes keeper.

Town went 2-0 up before the break, as Gunning-Williams hit the ball low and hard through the keeper.

Despite being kicked and pushed by the Lewes side all half, the Tractor Girls were able to hold their own and go in two goals to the good at the break.

Town went 3-0 up just after the restart, with another screamer, this time from Doe, who hit the ball from the edge of the area, and the ball flew into the top right of the goal.

Lewes had two great opportunities back-to-back to get one back, but Poppy Soper, who returned to the side following an injury, pulled off a great double save.

Town almost had a fourth, as a great run from Sophie Peskett caused problems for the Lewes right-hand side before a cross from Maisy Barker met the head of Natasha Thomas, whose shot was well saved by Whitehouse.

Lewes caused Town very little problems, and it was Town who were putting the pressure on to get a fourth, as Gunning-Williams and Doe had opportunities.
