Ipswich Town have recruited a new lead coach for their Under-18s side.
Olly Lee, 32, played for the likes of Birmingham, Luton, Hearts and Gillingham in his career before being forced to retire prematurely last February due to struggles with psoriatic arthritis and Raynaud's - a rare condition that causes pain in parts of the body, usually fingers and toes.
He is the son of former Newcastle and England midfielder Rob Lee and older brother of current Wrexham midfielder Elliot.
Lee had recently been working in Tottenham's academy. He replaces Callum Tongue in the U18s role, the latter having departed the club to join Manchester United's academy in October last year.
The young Blues currently sit eighth in the Professional Development League Two South having been beaten 4-2 at Swansea City in their first game of 2024 last weekend.
There has been a lot of change in coaches over the past few years for the U18s with previous managers Sam Darlow and Adem Atay departing and current U21s coach David Wright stepping in over the past few months.
