Former Town goalkeeper Kelvin Davis has landed his first managerial job after being appointed the new boss of National League side Eastleigh.
The 47-year-old replaces Richard Hill, who departed the club by mutual consent on Saturday after a 3-0 defeat against Ebbsfleet United left the Spitfires without a win in nine matches.
Eastleigh are currently 15th in the fifth-tier, four points above the relegation zone, and Davis will take charge of his first match tomorrow night away to bottom club Oxford City.
He has appointed Danny Butterfield has his assistant manager, who most recently worked under former Town player Mark Kennedy at Lincoln City.
Davis retired from football at the age of 39 in 2016 and subsequently served as both caretaker boss and first team coach at Southampton before leaving the club at the end of the 2021/22 season.
The keeper made 93 appearances during his two seasons at Portman Road, where he helped the Blues reach the Championship play-offs in both campaigns.
