Ipswich Town under-21’s came from behind to secure a 3-1 victory at Cardiff City in the Professional Development League Two South this afternoon.

The Bluebirds took the lead via Joel Colwill, but goals from Jacob Mazionis, Rio Morgan and Tommy Taylor secured all three points for Town.

John McGreal's side went into the game looking to get back to winning ways after they were beaten 2-1 at Millwall last week.

Cardiff opened the scoring in the 10th minute when Raheem Conte played in Colwill, who finished from inside the area.

Town had to make a first-half change when Matty Roberts came off, having suffered an injury. He was replaced by Morgan.

The young Blues went on to score a quick-fire double at the start of the second half when Morgan delivered a free-kick into the box, finding the head of Mazionis, who equalised from close range.

Morgan then scored a minute later when Leon Ayinde put the forward through on goal. He turned his defender before slotting home for his third goal of the season.

Just after the hour-mark, Okunowo came close to extending Town's lead, but his shot from just outside the box hit the post.

Town did, however, score their third of the afternoon in the 78th minute when Morgan was involved again as he set-up Tommy Taylor to wrap up the win.
