Ipswich Town drew 0-0 at home with Watford tonight. Mark Heath dishes out some player ratings...

Vaclav Hladky

Stopper stretched to seize a lofted Watford effort 33 minutes in, his first save of the evening. Had been busy with his feet early on though, showing his customary coolness under pressure. Called into action to parry a long range fizzer from Asprilla on the hour, which he perhaps should have caught. Threw himself to his left to deny Lewis when he found space too. Then saved a point at the death, sprinting back into his area and hurling himself into the air to claw away Kayembe's speculative effort from inside his own half. 7

Harry Clarke

Replaced Axel Tuanzebe in the starting line-up and was involved in a silky move with Moore which freed Broadhead for a shot early doors. Booked for a trip just after 30 minutes. Then sailed an inch-perfect cross into the box for Moore just before the break, one of a few times he impressed going forward. Offers Town more in an attacking sense than Tuanzebe, plus worked well defensively here. A good display.

George Edmundson

In for Luke Woolfenden to make a rare league start. Always ready to step in and step up to the plate, and it was no different here, working well alongside Burgess to largely blunt the Hornets' sting. Picked up a knock to his foot with 15 minutes left which looks a sore one and saw him replaced. Hopefully it's not another ankle injury - that would be cruel. 7

Cameron Burgess

Big Aussie centre-back was his usual brick wall presence, blocking and heading things clear when required. Some really nice touches and passes to help start attacks too. Just couldn't quite get his head on the late opportunities to get set-pieces into the box. 7

Leif Davis

Town's assist machine had a quiet first half, with few opportunities to get forward and whip in those trademark deliveries. Got more space in the second, but couldn't unpick the lock with his crosses. Showed a brilliant turn of pace late on to race back and cover defensively. All in all, a slightly off night for a man of whom we expect so much. 6

Jack Taylor

Replaced Massimo Luongo in the XI and, like Morsy, had a quiet opening. Started to build into the game with some nice touches, and then drilled his shot right at Broadhead when he found space in the box for a great chance. Drifted out to left back at times to help give Davis licence to get forward. Barely touched the ball in the second period before being replaced. 6

Sam Morsy

Super skipper had a quiet start as Watford congested things, but almost sprung Hutchinson with a lovely flighted ball into the box just before the quarter hour mark. Let fly from range just after 40 minutes, looking to replicate his cracker from the reverse fixture. Worked hard defensively, made some good tackles and always looked a threat to create something, either from his own shots or his balls into the box. 7

Kayden Jackson

The pick to start wide right whipped in a cracking cross after being sprung by Morsy just before the half hour, following a quiet opening as Watford clogged space. As Town started to buzz in the first half, he drilled in some excellent balls across the box, including one which gave Taylor a great chance. Replaced by Chaplin just after the hour. 7

Omari Hutchinson

Stayed in the XI but shifted to the 10 spot, with Conor Chaplin sitting out. Likes to drift out right in that role, and glided into the box from wide with some nifty footwork after 25 minutes before almost creating something from nothing down the centre seconds later. Set up Broadhead to hit the post as he and the Welshman flexed their creative muscles before half-time. When he's running with the ball at his feet he is exhilarating, and was clearly the most likely to create something in the second half as he buzzed around. Town's best player by a distance.

Nathan Broadhead

Welshman unleashed Town's first effort on goal around 17 minutes in, after some tasty football from Clarke and Moore. Then turned beautifully to create his own shot as Town looked to ramp things up, before hitting the base of the post moments later from Hutchinson's lay off. Quiet in second stanza, and replaced by Sarmiento just after the hour. 7

Kieffer Moore

The teak tough big man combined well with Clarke to set up an early Broadhead effort, and was then felled by Hoedt as he looked to surge into the box, with no foul given. Went close with a trademark towering header from Clarke's superb cross just before the break. Headed it straight at the keeper - he'd expect to have done better from there. Worked hard as ever, but not quite at his best. 6

Luongo (for Taylor, 63)

Had a long range effort blocked as Town pushed for the late winner. 6

Chaplin (for Jackson, 63)

A rare appearance from the bench for Town's joint-leading scorer, but he couldn't make a difference. 6

Sarmiento (for Broadhead, 63)

So often a man to create big moments in cameo displays, but not tonight. Looked like he picked up a knock fairly soon after entering the fray.

Al-Hamadi (for Moore, 71)

Popular striker is always on his toes and looking to create. Almost did with a matter of minutes left, firing in a shot which was blocked for a corner. Lively. 6

Woolfenden (for Edmundson, 78)

Wouldn't have wanted to step off the bench in the manner in which he did, given Edmundson's injury. Played some nice balls forward as Town pressed late on. 6
