Ipswich Town Women manager Joe Sheehan said he was "delighted with the character shown" as his side came from two goals down to beat Cardiff City Ladies at the AGL Arena.

A hat-trick from Lucy O'Brien and an own-goal saw the Tractor Girls come from 2-0 down to win 4-2 this afternoon.

Sheehan said: "We didn't envisage the game to go the way it did.

"We gave Cardiff a two-goal head start, we started well enough to get ourselves in front before those two goals.

"We were disappointed that we didn't get in front, but we are delighted with the character shown to fight back and get the win."

On O'Brien's hat-trick, Sheehan added: "We are really pleased for her.

"She's played in a couple of positions and it's a great individual achievement for her.

"But it was also a really important goal for us at the time we needed it."

That is now three wins on the bounce for Town, finishing a rather disappointing season on a high.

Sheehan said: "We're really pleased with the last three wins.

"It's important we have tried to play really well and wing games because we want to win more games of football.

"It's a bit of a reset before trying to finish the season strong on the final day against Billericay Town."

Town face the side from Essex on May 5 at the AGL Arena for the last game of the season.
