Ipswich Town are in talks with Hull City over a double deal for Jacob Greaves and Jaden Philogene. Ross Halls takes a look at players who arrived as a pair in years gone by.
ADRIAN PAZ AND MAURICIO TARICCO
The South American duo were signed by John Lyall during the 1994–95 season in a joint transfer from Argentinos Juniors and Estudiantes de La Plata respectively.
They had contrasting spells at club. Paz became the first Uruguayan to play in the Premier League but failed to make his mark, scoring just once in 18 games.
Taricco struggled to adjust to English football at first but went on to become a real fans' favourite, making close to 200 appearances during his time at Portman Road.
CARLOS EDWARDS AND GRANT LEADBITTER
Roy Keane turned to his former club Sunderland to sign Edwards and Leadbitter for a combined fee of £4m on summer transfer deadline day 2009. They both went on to captain the Blues.
Leadbitter had some good Town moments and some difficult spells too, making over 100 appearances for the club.
Edwards played close to 200 games, the former Trinidad & Tobago international making a mark at a time when his sides weren’t always successful.
DARYL MURPHY AND DAVID HEALY
The Irishmen were a double loan signing by Keane, again both from Sunderland, on January deadline day in 2010.
Republic of Ireland striker Murphy went on to return to Portman Road twice more on loan, this time from Celtic, before signing permanently and playing a key role in the club securing a play-off place in 2015.
However, Northern Ireland striker Healy notched just one goal in 13 games during his short spell before returning to the Stadium Light.
BRETT PITMAN AND RYAN FRASER
A different double deal this one as the duo were signed as part of Tyrone Mings' move to Bournemouth for £8m in the summer of 2015.
Mick McCarthy was able to bring in Pitman on a free transfer as part of that deal. He netted 15 goals in 70 games for the club and finished the 2015/16 season as Town's top goalscorer.
Fraser joined on a season-long loan, with the diminutive Scottish winger scoring six goals in 21 appearances. Sadly, injury cut his impressive loan spell short in February of that season.
JON NOLAN AND TOTO NSIALA
The most recent double signing was done by Paul Hurst when he brought in two of his former Shrewsbury Town players for a combined fee of £2mn in the summer of 2018.
The Liverpudlian pair were unable to prevent the Blues from relegation to the third tier and overall they didn't make the impact that was hoped for when they signed.
Centre-back Nsiala made 78 appearances for Town, while midfielder Nolan scored 10 goals in 70 appearances.
OTHER DOUBLE DEALS
Paul Mariner joined the Blues from Plymouth Argyle for a then club record fee of £220,000 in October 1976. As part of the deal, Town players John Peddelty and Terry Austin moved in the opposite direction to Home Park.
Another double move was Dutchmen Nabil Abidallah and Guillermo Graaven, who were signed as free transfers from Ajax by George Burley in the summer of 2000. Abidallah would play just twice for Town, while Graaven failed to make a first-team appearance for the club.
