Former Ipswich Towns striker Connor Wickham has made a surprising move to UAE side Dubai City FC.
The 32-year-old spent time in the Blues' academy after joining from Reading, progressing through to the first team in 2009, where he notched 15 goals in 72 appearances.
He left for Sunderland in 2011 and subsequently spent time with the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Crystal Palace, Forest Green Rovers and Cardiff City.
He joined Charlton Athletic back in March 2024, scoring once in four appearances before being released two months later. After that, he spent time out of football, doing commentary on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday , before starting training with the PFA free agents team over the summer.
He scored a stunning goal from the halfway line in a friendly game against Manchester United's academy, with the strike going viral on social media afterwards.
