Former Ipswich Town midfielder Grant Ward has signed for League One side Port Vale on an initial deal until the end of the season.
The 31-year-old had been a free agent after being released by Bristol Rovers following their relegation to League Two last season.
Ward spent two-and-a-half years in Bristol, where he made 80 appearances for the Gas, scoring five goals during his spell at the Memorial Stadium.
He now links up with Jon Brady's side, who are sitting rock bottom of the third tier, 11 points adrift of safety.

Speaking about the signing, Ward's new manager said: “We’re delighted to welcome Grant to the club and look forward to working with him.
“He’ll give us quality and versatility in the midfield going into another really busy period and has experience at this level and above.”
Ward burst onto the scene at Town in 2016, joining from Tottenham Hotspur, and netted a second half hat-trick on his Blues' debut in a 4-2 home win over Barnsley.
However, he never really hit those heights again, featuring 88 times for Town, scoring eight goals in total after some injury set-backs during his spell at Portman Road.
