Ipswich Town goalkeeper Arijanet Muric has completed a permanent move to Serie A outfit Sassuolo.
The 27-year-old joined the Blues from Burnley following promotion to the Premier League, but he had a tough start to life in Suffolk, with errors costing the Blues in the Premier League before he lost his place in the team.
A move to Italy followed last summer, with Sassuolo signing him on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season, set at €7m (around £6m) according to Fabrizio Romano.
He impressed with his performances, most notably in a 1-1 draw against Juventus, where he saved a late penalty. He ended the campaign with six clean sheets in 32 games.
He now joins Sassuolo, who triggered the option to buy. This comes despite previously telling journalist Gianluca Di Marzio that his time at the MAPEI Stadium was over.
"I'm grateful for this season, but I don't intend to play for Sassuolo next season," he said.
"With the end of my loan, my time here also ends.
"It was a positive year and I enjoyed it, but I have informed the club that I don't want to stay here after this season for personal reasons."
It remains to be seen whether or not he will stay at Sassuolo following his transfer. La Liga side Valencia have been linked with a move.
