An Ipswich Town academy XI were beaten 1-0 by Slovakian club Spartak Trnava’s Under-19s in a pre-season friendly yesterday morning.
The young Blues are currently on tour in Slovakia for a training camp as they prepare for the 2026/27 season.
It was a strong performance from Town, who dominated the game, but the home side scored the only goal of the encounter in the 31st minute via Rastislav Flimmel.

A total of 23 players were used over the course of the game, with youngsters from the Town U18s and U21s involved, although the group is without some key regulars.
Goalkeeper Woody Williamson, centre-back Corbin Mthunzi, midfielders Fin Barbrook and Steven Turner, and forward Luca Fletcher are with Gary O'Neil's side at their training camp in La Manga.
The young Blues are set to play two more games during their trip before heading back home for further friendly fixtures ahead of their Premier League 2 campaigns.
