Ipswich Town winger Chiedozie Ogbene has joined Championship newcomers Lincoln City on a loan until January.
The Republic of Ireland international joined the Blues from Luton Town in the summer of 2024, following promotion to the Premier League, but he suffered a cruel Achilles injury away at Brentford in October that year, ruling him out for the rest of the campaign.
He subsequently joined Sheffield United on loan following Town's relegation to the Championship, but struggled for regular minutes at Bramall Lane, not helped by injuries.
Ogbene claimed at the start of the summer that he wanted to play a part in Ipswich's top-flight return, but with a limited number of spaces in Gary O'Neil's senior squad, he has joined Lincoln on loan for the first half of the season.
The Imps are back in the second tier after 65 years away, although without promotion-winning manager Michael Skubala, who left to join Bristol City.
His assistants at Sincil Bank - Chris Cohen and Tom Shaw - are now in charge, having secured their first point of the season tonight with a 0-0 draw at home to 10-man Blackburn Rovers.
Ogbene could make his debut for the club at home to Southampton on Saturday afternoon (12:30pm). He is expected to be the final exit on transfer deadline day, following loan moves for Tudor Mendel (Luton Town) and Cameron Humphreys (Huddersfield Town).
Zian Flemming's arrival from Burnley will wrap up the summer transfer window for Ipswich, signing for £17m plus up to £3m in add-ons.
