Ipswich Town manager Gary O'Neil says his team are prepared to 'suffer' at Crystal Palace tomorrow in a quest for their first away points of the season.
After a dramatic opening weekend home win against Sunderland, the Blues have suffered back-to-back defeats against Champions League sides Manchester United and Liverpool.
Palace, who won the UEFA Conference League back in May, got their first points of the campaign last weekend with a 3-2 victory at Fulham.
"All four of the teams that we're facing at the start of the season have qualified for Europe, so that shows you the level of the test that we're up against," said O'Neil.
"We thought we delivered a game plan and a level of commitment that would give us an opportunity against United and Liverpool. It didn't end up giving us any points, but it gave us a belief that we can compete. We now have an understanding of what can go wrong and where we need to fix things.
"It's an exciting game for us. We have respect for Crystal Palace and the quality that they have, but we'll go there full of optimism and intensity, trying to make it as difficult for them as possible and looking to put our first away win on the board."
O'Neil added: "I played against Pierre Sage's Lens team last year at Strasbourg and he's trying to get his Crystal Palace group in the same shape. They do have some similarities to how they were under Oliver Glasner, keeping a back five, but Pierre Sage uses the midfielders a little bit differently.
"It's a tough place to go, Selhurst Park. A very small pitch, intense atmosphere. There'll be moments in the game where we need to suffer and dig in. We need to find a way to come through those difficult spells slightly better than we have in the last two games.
"I'm confident that our group is in a good enough spot to go and compete with Crystal Palace and cause them some problems. If we can go and nail exactly how we want to do this then we have a real chance of getting something."
