Three penalty saves from AFC goalkeeper Alex Archer saw Sudbury through to the Robert Dyas Cup quarter-finals against Leiston.
Scott Mitchell had fired Sudbury into a fourth minute lead but Leiston were level on 26 minutes when Mark Ray tapped home.
Ollie Hughes restored Sudbury’s advantage in the second minute of first-half stoppage, but Ray stole in to score his second and level for the visitors on 65 minutes. With the scores level at full-time, the match went straight to penalties, Baker, Mitchell and Steve Spriggs scoring for Sudbury.
Only Josh Trenter scored from the spot for Leiston as Archer denied Matt Redgrave, Luke Hammond and Blake Saker.
