STOWMARKET Town Football Club held their EGM on Sunday and with the largest member turnout in the club's recent history, both the youth and adult sections were amalgamated and brought under their new holding Community Interest Company, Stowmarket Town Community Sports and Social Club CIC.
The voting for this change was unanimous, as was the voting of the new company chairman Mr Michael Hills.
The new structure will now allow company volunteers, elected by the members at the EGM, to move the club forward with projects which they hope will deliver new facilities.
The club is no longer owned by Trustees and thus no individual can gain from the club's success.
The new board of directors will now begin planning to meet businesses and councils to discuss the club's future, hoping that they can gain agreement regarding the plans for the new building.
