Copleston High School hosts the third annual Discovery Summer Festival, for children and teenagers with learning difficulties, physical disabilities and low self-esteem, on Thursday.
The event, which runs alongside the Suffolk Sport County Athletic Assessment day, will include 14 teams featuring youngsters from primary school level upwards take part in boccia, dance, dance athletics, wheelchair basketball, table tennis and polybat, cricket, fencing and tennis.
Each participant will get to compete in five events and Inclusive School Games organiser Danny Thorrington said the event was always a popular one and helped the youngsters continue in their favourite sports after.
“Five national governing bodies are coming down to watch and talent-spot with the hope that they can maybe push and encourage the athletes in the right direction to continue with extra sessions,” said Thorrington.
“That is the main part of the day.”
