All too easy for Witches

Ipswich Witches 59 Plymouth Devils 35

Ipswich Witches easily saw off basement club, Plymouth, with a comfortable victory at Foxhall Stadium. The home side had far too much quality for the Devils, and Ipswich could even afford to give all their rider replacement rides to Mildenhall reserve Lewis Blackbird. He scored just a point, but battled hard, although what the final score may have been had a fully-fit Morten Risager been in the side, one can’t start to imagine. The home side were never behind and as a spectacle it never reached any great heights. But the Witches couldn’t be blamed for that, and in Lasse Bjerre and Chris Mills had the stars of the show, Bjerre dropping one point and Mills unbeaten in four rides. The racing was decent enough, but this one won’t live long in the memory, with too many visiting riders failing to get to grips with the Foxhall circuit.
