BRIAN Alldis, of Bury St Edmunds, will be competing for Great Britain at the World Championships in Osaka, Japan, later this month.
Alldis will be in action in the 1,500m wheelchair event, as a replacement for the experienced David Weir, who has had to withdraw through injury.
Selection was by virtue of a one-off qualifying race in Canada, where the top eight were selected for the World Championships, which start on Saturday, August 25.
Alldis was ninth in that race and so has been called up as first reserve. His recent good form has included a victory at the Cardiff 10K.
