OLYMPIC bronze medalist Anthony Ogogo has quashed reports that he is poised to turn professional and sign for Oscar De La Hoya’s ‘Golden Boy Promotions’, despite remaining in negotiations with the company.
The Lowestoft middleweight who was one of Team GB’s many success stories in the summer, revealed to the East Anglian Daily Times last month that he had been in talks with the American-based giants.
However, he also refused to rule out remaining as an amateur and admitted he was tempted by the target of winning a place at the Brazil Olympics in four years time.
Several reports have claimed that Ogogo has made his mind up to move to the paid-ranks but the 24-year-old insists that is not the case.
“Nothing has been decided yet and the stories that have been leaked are just rumours,” said Ogogo.
