IPSWICH-based Elena Baltacha cruised through to the second round of the French Open with a straight sets win over American qualifer Sloane Stephens.
The British number one booked her place in the next round in comfortable fashion, taking just 83 minutes to win 7-5, 6-2.
The victory ensured two British women will be in the French Open second round for the first time since 1992 after Heather Watson also won through.
Up next for Baltacha is another American, Vania King.
