Beer cheer for Hadleigh

HADLEIGH United have arranged a special toast if they lift the Touchline Sports Suffolk Senior Cup when they play Grundisburgh in the final at a date to be arranged.

HADLEIGH United have arranged a special toast if they lift the Touchline Sports Suffolk Senior Cup when they play Grundisburgh in the final at a date to be arranged.

A special beer has been brewed that is only available in the clubhouse of the Ridgeons League First Division side's clubhouse at Millfield.

Called Suffolk Senior Bitter, the beer has been brewed specially by Mauldon's Brewery from Sudbury.

Hadleigh bar manager Andy Grimsey said: “I had a word with Steve Sims from the brewery and he agreed to brew us a special beer.

“It has a distinctive Mauldon's taste - light and hoppy. We went through a barrel - nine gallons - during our home game against Debenham Leisure Centre last Friday night.”

The beer will be on sale right through to the sixth annual beer festival - run by Andy - that takes place this year at Millfield on Saturday July 26.
