FORMER King's Lynn striker Danny Bloomfield hopes to have his future sorted out in the next day or so.

The Ipswich-based player, who left The Walks this week after an amicable agreement to terminate his contract, has been in talks with various local sides, keen to sign him .

With a goalscoring record of almost one in two games at Lynn, Bloomfield hasn't been short of offers since his departure and at 26 years of age, he remains a big coup for someone.

“I must admit the phone has been ringing, which is nice,” Bloomfield said.

“I was sad to leave Lynn but quite honestly I need to be playing and it wasn't happening. There was a lot of travelling for me and too many substitute appearances.

“But I left Lynn on very good terms and in very many ways I was sad to go.”

Bloomfield spent seven years on and off at the north Norfolk side, but now he is hoping for a move closer to home in Ipswich, with a young family meaning he wants less travelling.

“I've spoken to Cambridge City and Leiston, I think that's no secret,” Bloomfield added.

“I'm very keen to continue to play at the very highest level possible if I can. It's important to me, I'll be a long time retired and I've seen players drop down too early just because it was easy to.”

Apart from Cambridge City and Leiston, there are other top Suffolk sides known to be interested in Bloomfield's signature.

And it is likely Bloomfield will be turning out for his new club on Saturday afternoon, but who it is remains to be seen.
