FORMER Ipswich Town and Colchester United boss George Burley is expected to be appointed by the Scottish Football Association as their national team manager today.
The board of the SFA will be asked to ratify the decision by the interview panel, which is likely to be a formality, before the processing of approaching the candidate takes place.
Southampton boss Burley took training with his club on the south coast yesterday but is now the anticipated successor to Alex McLeish, who quit in November after Scotland's hopes of qualifying for Euro 2008 were ended by defeat to Italy.
