Kieran Leabon’s hat-trick saw Bury Town comfortably beat Walsham-le-Willows on Gavin Johnson’s return to his former club.

Bury went into the break with a 1-0 lead courtesy of Kieran Leabon’s 16th minute shot which had deflected over the keeper off a defender.

The newly-promoted Ryman League Premier Division side were awarded a penalty in the first minute of the second half, but Lee Reed’s spot kick was well saved by Duncan McAnally.

Bury doubled their advantage five minutes later though when Sam Reed took advantage of some poor defending.

Ashley Sloots scored at the far post for Bury’s third after good work by Sam Reed in the 61st minute, before Leabon headed home Bury’s fourth after 72 minutes.

The former Histon striker then completed his hat-trick two minutes later after being set up by Craig Nurse.
