Trail-blazing Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club director of rugby Gavin Hogg is to leave the club at the end of the season, it emerged tonight.
Hogg, who has overseen Bury’s rapid rise up through the leagues to their current spot in National League Two South, has accepted a new job as head coach at Old Albanians in National One, where he will also be involved in the coaching team at Saracens.
A spokesman for Bury said: “This is a good move for Gavin, and after six years with us this comes at the right time for him and his career.
“We hope to be able to make an announcement shortly after Easter regarding Gavin’s replacement.
“In the meantime, we carry on with business as usual; everyone including Gav and the players, remain totally focused on finishing the season on a high, doing our best to win our next three games, giving Gavin the best possible send off.”
