Bury Town remain second from bottom in the Ryman Premier after a 3-1 defeat at fellow strugglers Harrow Borough last night.

Bury are now second from bottom of the division but crucially, have played four games more than fourth-bottom Lewes, six more than fifth-bottom Witham and two more than basement side AFC Hornchurch

Much of the action happened in the last five minutes of the first half, with Bury equalising on 45 minutes, only to then concede a penalty straight from Harrow’s kick-off.

Michael Bryan broke the deadlock for the hosts five minutes before the break, capitalising on a Connor Hall interception that went directly to him, before going on to beat Alex Archer.

The Blues equalised five minutes later however, Jordan Patrick firing a left-foot shot from the right into the top corner.

The visitors’ joy was shortlived though when Borough were awarded a penalty within 30 seconds of the restart, Hall tripping Marc Charles-Smith who then converted from the spot.

Jerome Walker added to the Blues’ misery midway through the second half, the midfielder slotting home from close range after Bryan had made his way into the box and drawn Archer.
