Haverhill’s good pre-season run hit a bump against Bury Town as they went down to their visitors.
Bury led on 22 minutes following a well worked quick corner on the right, Bradley Barber quickly laying the ball for Remi Garrett to trap, Barber to cross and David Lampshire to put the ball past goalkeeper Ben Mills.
The away side’s second goal came in the 37th minute, Garrett’s cross being met by the diving head of Noel Aitkens.
With the first half drawing to a close, the hosts having a goal disallowed for a push on ‘keeper Nick Planter during this time, a great save from the Bury shot stopper denied Charlie Sigler a goal six minutes into the second period, before Michael Shinn’s free kick clipped the roof of the Bury net on 58 minutes.
The win was sealed on 69 minutes when Barber rode a couple of challenges before putting a low shot past Mills for Bury’s third of the night.
