CHELMSFORD'S Lisa Wooding is one of three players to have been axed for England's latest women's hockey squad.

Naming his squad for this month's EuroHockey Nations Championship in Manchester, coach Danny Kerry made three changes from the 18 that finished seventh at last year's World Cup in Madrid.

Wooding, as well as fellow casualties Jo Ellis (Doncaster) and Helen Grant (Rotterdam), make way for Leicester's recently-capped forward Hannah Macleod, her club-mate Anne Panter and Canterbury's Cathy Gilliat-Smith.

Chelmsford's Chloe Rogers and Ipswich's Jo Ellis retain their places in the squad.

England were disappointing at the World Cup in Madrid last October but Kerry is looking to rediscover the form which saw his side claim bronze at the 2005 European championships.
