Christchurch 1 Carlton Park 3

On a bitterly cold day Park started the game very positively and moved the ball well around the pitch.

They immediately put the home side's defence under pressure, but some fine keeping by the goalie kept them in the game.

The breakthrough came when a ball crossed from the right found Roo Mackie, whose shot to the top of the net proved unstoppable.

Christchurch then came into the game more, but any breaks were dealt with by the strong defence of Park.

Park added their second when some good work by Sarah Whatling saw her shot hit the corner of the post and then deflect into the goal.

In the second half Christchurch came out the better side and were constantly attacking the Park goal.

Park were hemmed in their defence and a cross from the right found an unmarked player running in who swiped the ball into the goal.

Park knew they had to up their game and shortly after replied when some good work down the right from Georgie Coulson found Vicky Le Fanu. Her cross then pulled the keeper out and Denise Manning was on hand to hit the ball into the corner of the goal.
