Clacton II 3 Wapping 3

Clacton hosted old rivals Wapping at Vista Road, with both teams seeking valuable points in a very close division.

Clacton started brightly, with Sam Hodge and Russell Measor finding some accurate passes and making some good attacking runs, but it was the visitors who took the lead with a good counter-attacking goal early in the first half.

However, Clacton's Mr Reliable, Danny Clow, struck back within a couple of minutes, netting from a short corner to level the scores.

Wapping then surged back and some resilient defending from James Mead and the underrated Dan Pritchard held the score line level, before some confusion in the Clacton defence offered Wapping a soft goal from a short corner.

The visitors struck again a short while later, with a well-worked goal to extend their lead.

Clacton's resiliency shone through however and man-of-the-match Francis Sanderson battled hard to win Clacton a number of chances. When Hodge won a short corner, Measor was there to guide the ball home from close range. Measor levelled the scores soon after with a well taken shot from

ten yards out and Clacton went into half time on level terms.

The hosts then had a number of opportunities in the second half through mazy runs from Hodge and constant pressure from Sanderson, but failed to convert any chances, leaving the scores level.

Clacton travel to Havering next week, in their last game before the Christmas break.
