Colchester II 2 Southend II 1
AFTER a two-week break from matches, Colchester Ladies' seconds played host to Southend. After some recent good results, a changed Colchester team took time to settle before passing the ball frequently and creating opportunities. Colchester were unable to convert from their three short corners and unfortunately conceded in the last minute of the half from a short corner against the run of play.
Colchester were slow to start the second half but picked up the pace and dominated the last 20 minutes. Kate Bagley drove into the circle and unleashed a powerful and unstoppable shot which brought the score level.

Colchester continued to pile on the pressure. A good through-pass found Charlie Walsh in space to drive to the line and pullback to Minal Patel who shot just wide.
A quickly-taken free hit to Rose Prince saw her drive into the circle and pass across the goal where there were a number of Colchester players waiting. Patel ensured the ball was forced across the line for Colchester's second goal. The team continued to press Southend to finish strongly.
