Colchester United have begun their transfer activity early on in this month’s transfer window, by signing two players from non-league Maldon & Tiptree and off-loading Craig Slater on loan to Dundee United.
The Jammers duo of Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe and Ryan Gondoh, who have played key roles in the Park Drive club rising to third in the Bostik North, have signed for the U’s on 18-month deals.
Front-runner Ogedi-Uzokwe has been in prolific form, ever since his return to England from a spell in Cyrpus with Turk Ocagi Limasol.
In fact, the 23-year-old has plundered 34 goals in as many games for Maldon, to top the Bostik League goal-charts, while team-mate Gondoh, a left-sided specialist, has bagged 12 goals in 29 games for the Jammers this season.
Meanwhile, midfielder Slater, out-of-favour at the League Two U’s, has moved to Scottish Championship club Dundee United on loan until the end of the season.
