Ipswich Town could welcome midfielder Cole Skuse back for a busy Easter weekend of Championship fixtures.
The 31-year-old has missed the Blues’ last two games – the 3-0 home win over Wigan and the 3-1 defeat at Fulham – with concussion, but is fit again ahead of Ipswich’s trip to 20th-placed Burton Albion on Good Friday (7.45pm) and Easter Monday’s home clash with second-placed Newcastle United.
Manager Mick McCarthy is missing defenders Jonas Knudsen and Stephen Taylor for the remainder of the season, but the likes of Tommy Smith, Jonny Williams, Paul Digby, Danny Rowe, Teddy Bishop, Dominic Samuel and Kieffer Moore all played in the Blues’ under-23s 2-1 win at Millwall in midweek and are in contention.
Town are nine points clear of the Championship’s bottom-three with five games to play and face a Burton side on Friday that are four points further behind the Blues, in what is their first-ever season in English football’s second tier.
