Debenham LC have managed to fend off the advances of local rivals to keep hold of star striker Stuart Jopling for the forthcoming season their inaugural, in the Ridgeons League Premier Division.
Manager Mel Aldis said he was delighted that the experienced frontman, who has scored more than 100 goals in his three seasons at Maitlands, has signed up for the new campaign.
Aldis said: “He had some good offers from other teams but decided to stay with us. He told me he enjoyed making history with Debenham, rather than just being part of the history at another club. “He's enjoying the journey.”
Jopling, who hit 39 goals for Debenham last season that helped clinch promotion and also topped the Division One scoring chart, was linked to a move to Needham Market in the second part of last season.
