Following hot on the heels of club stalwart Tom Eastman, the duo of Drey Wright and Lewis Kinsella have secured their Colchester United futures for another season.

Centre-half Eastman, the U’s longest-serving player, signed a new two-year deal earlier this week, while today both Wright and Kinsella have seen the Essex club take up the options of extending their respective stays for another 12 months.

Academy product Wright, 22, had the option of another 12 months on his existing contract, the attacker having enjoyed a fine last season with the U’s. Wright seemed to get over the long-term knee injuries that have so far dogged his career, featuring in 42 of the 46 league games last term. He has made 101 appearances in total.

Left-back Kinsella, meanwhile, recruited from Aston Villa last summer, impressed in the U’s defence last autumn, before being sidelined by a serious ankle injury that kept him out of action for four months.
