KARL Duguid scored home and away against Ipswich Town last season, but Colchester United's experienced skipper will have to sit out tonight's Portman Road showdown.
Duguid will not shrug off an ankle injury in time to feature in the eagerly-awaited East Anglian derby, which is a blow for the U's because he was the match-winner in the 1-0 victory at Layer Road, and also scored the opener in the 3-2 defeat at Town in January.
However, right-back Duguid is convinced that the U's can spring a surprise in Suffolk this evening, backed by a full allocation of 2,200 away fans.
“I reckon there is something a little different about us this year, and we have the quality to get a result.
“We score lots of goals, and it should be a great occasion. I will be feeling a bit frustrated to watch the match from the stands, but I hope to be back this weekend at Coventry.”
