LOWESTOFT have been handed a plumb draw in the FA Cup third qualifying round – hosting Chelmsford on October 15.
The Trawlerboys booked their passage in the next round thanks to a comfortable 3-0 over Hemel Hempstead at the weekend, Joe Francis and Matt Nolan (two) getting the goals.
But they will face sterner opposition in the face of higher league Chelmsford who, like Lowestoft, have targeted promotion this season.
AFC Sudbury, who beat Merstham 2-0 to book their place in today’s draw, face another away day after they were paired with Eastbourne Borough.
If they are successful in overcoming Whitehawk, Maldon & Tiptree will face Hendon in the third qualifying round.
