COLCHESTER United defender Tom Eastman has extended his loan spell at high-flying Crawley Town.

Eastman, who signed for the U’s from Ipswich Town over the summer, made five league appearances for the Sussex club during his first month on loan.

And now the 19-year-old will stay at Crawley for another month, until November.

Eastman has yet to make a senior appearance for the U’s, although he is seen as a player of the future by manager John Ward.

He made 10 league appearances for Ipswich during Roy Keane’s era, most of them out of position at right-back. He rejected the offer of a new short-term contract at Portman Road and chose to sign for the U’s on a two-year deal instead.
