POLICE in Essex are investigating an armed robbery at a wine merchant's after a man threatened a member of staff with a gun.
The incident took place at the Unwins shop in Maldon Road, Great Baddow, near Chelmsford, at 9.50pm on Tuesday.
A man walked in to the shop brandishing a hand gun and pointed it at the young man behind the till, demanding cash.
The man, wearing a black scarf, a blue hooded top with white writing on the front and navy tracksuit bottoms, took more than £100 from the till and a quantity of cigarettes before running off.
He was carrying a blue bag and was described as being white, aged between 20 and 30, and of a medium build.
