EVERTON boss David Moyes is set to move for Portugal striker Hugo Almeida as the Toffees bid for greater firepower.

The Merseyside club have been hit by injuries to Yakubu, Louis Saha and James Vaughan and see 24-year-old Werder Bremen hitman Almeida as a possible solution to their striking problems.

It is thought the move would be a loan deal at first, with a view to a permanent transfer in the summer.
